A destination in its own right, Plateau Restaurant conjures a blend of service and cuisine uncommon to this part of the world. The cultured combination of meticulous décor, sateen linen and crystal glassware stands in contrast to the untamed natural surrounds.

“Quality ingredients and the skilled hands of the chef” is offered as the simple philosophy behind the phenomenal food produced by the Plateau kitchen. The style is what you would expect from a fine restaurant along the Côte d’Azur, but portion sizes are satisfactory and the prices are affordable (R70 – R110 for mains). Although the selection on the menu is still relatively small, the wine list is extensive. There are over 60 wines on the list, all of which are beautifully displayed in the underground wine cellar which also doubles up as a cigar lounge. To those with culinary interest, I strongly suggest a visit to this destination restaurant (open for meals certain days of the week,
reservation essential).

The cooking style could best be described as traditional French, but with more generous portions. The availability of fresh ingredients dictates the "carte", which, as a result, changes often. In line with the focus on nutrition, no artificial flavourants, colourants or preservatives are used in the cooking process.

We regret that Plateau Restaurant is currently not open to the public due to demand from hotel guests. This will change as the season progresses.

Smoking is allowed on verandahs, on balconies and in the cigar lounge in the wine cellar.

Plateau restaurant welcomes children over the age of twelve years.

Specific guest requirements are catered for with pleasure.
